Idle Speed Stepper Motor, Remove and Install (X 14
XE, X 16 XEL)
 Remove

Remove engine cover (2).
Detach wiring harness plug from intake air temperature sensor
and detach air intake manifold (1) from upper part of air cleaner
housing as well as from throttle body.
Disconnect wiring harness plug (3) from idle speed stepper motor
(4).
Detach idle speed stepper motor from throttle body.

Caution
To ensure that the housing and the idle speed stepper motor are
not damaged on installation, the clearance between the piston and
flange must not be larger than 33 mm. If there is a deviation,
carefully press in piston.
Install

Attach idle speed stepper motor to throttle body – insert
fastening bolts with screw locking compound (red).
Attach wiring harness plug to idle speed stepper motor.
Attach air intake manifold to upper part of air cleaner housing
and throttle body.
Connect wiring harness plug to intake air temperature
sensor.
Install engine cover.
